Presenting the Caress Pad, which is also a character in the story for the space album
The Empress
With the preview of Stasis available, I wish to present one of the important characters in the story, the Empress Caress. She mysteriously carries a long story that might never be fully exposed because she is dead. Only her memories and secret messages remain. This, so far, is the story I’ve played out in my head, using methods I usually apply when writing characters for game stories (video games, pen & paper). I already played out a few scenarios on paper.
She appears as a soft muse / an astral projection, to the principal character which I don’t want to uncover just yet. She’s the mother to the bastard Crown Prince Vitalion, who takes another principal role in the story because he needs to be protected at all costs. The weight of the universe is on his shoulders. His memory of her is sweet, and her astral appearances are soothing, like a gentle touch.
Another, darker side, better known to the actual protagonist, paints her as a strong monarch into a pack of Lions. She was a benevolent and strong empress: peaceful but not harmless.
The Instrument
Why do I tell you all this? Well, because she’s one of the instruments you can hear. Can you guess which one it is? (Tip, it’s not in the first half)
Have a look at the envelopes below. Even without looking at the notes, you might be able to recognize the part. Yes, it’s the lady with the crown at 3:38. Actually the memory/prelude of her starts appearing at 2:56 but she only becomes her own self about 16 beats later. I gave her the time to tell a long story. But the story itself does not matter. It is her voice that matters and that should put you at rest. This is why you’ve been bearing through the song for 2 minutes and 56 seconds.
